Prince Vladimir & Constantine's conversion
Price Vladimir used a succesful converstion in order to change Russian to christianty. This happened in such a good way through a very peaceful manner, by ministration and preaching. As well as the fact that it was done in the native Slavic language, due to the work of Saints Cyril and Methodius.Constantine's conversion was to switch to christianty as well but he had a much different aprouch. He signed the Edict of Milan which gave which specifically guaranteed religious freedom to Christians throughout the Roman empire. He was more wooryyed about politics then religion. I feel that they are the same in the way that both of them wanted to change to Christianty but Price was more of a religious and peaceful guy well Constantine was more for poltics and also was more of a war guy unlike Vladimir.
Trends in Byzantine Empire architecture
I feel by looking at a lot of the images that most of the buildings they had were made of brick and had the same color and shape of buildings throughout. All the images had something to do with religion too. The pictures had many different colors that would stand out and you could notice them. A lot of pictures had weird designs that were had to tell what they truely were. Like i said the pictures had many different colors in them and made somethings stand out more then others. It showed more important things or pctures in a more distinctive color then other things in the pictures. I feel that is is both to be functional and decrative because they want all their buildings to serve their purpose and things like churchs to be built the way they should be built but at the same time i feel that they try hard to keep all their builds and painting decrative too so they can stnad out and be noticed by everyone. I feel like their was a little bit of influence on American on the way they built their churchs and also they way they drew God. I felt like looking at the pictures of their churchs they seemed very similar to some of the old churchs that are still around today in America.
Tang poets and Song poets
I liked a couple of the poems more from the Tang poetry mostly the ones that are talking about the man being drunk because i find it quite funny how someone like Li Bai can write about something like that. Poetry to me is suppose to deep and mean something well he's going off writting about how he's drunk and drinking alone and wants the moon to drink with him, i found it stupied but quite funny. I did not really like the poems by Liu Yong because they seemed a little to emotional to me and i could not really understand it. Su Shi's poems were actually quite funny and i kind of liked them, after i read them over a couple times i found some creative things he did in his poems like add saracastic remarks. I found that the poems by Li Bai, Du Fu and Liu Yang seemed to be very similar in the way that the true meaning behing their poems were like love and affaction for ones like their family. And all these poems really are about society. Their were many difference because each poet has a different written style, like Bai's poems were more about being drunk and the love that happens and how society is. Well Fu's poems focused more about realisum and the idea of family affaction. Wei focused more about nature and religion based in his poems. The two Song poets were different in the way that Yong was way to emotional in his poems and took everything way to dramacticly, well Shi was more of a cleaver funny guy in his poems making saracastic remarks and changing up what he talked about. I think they do a good job in reflect the two societies because poems were mostly wrote to make emperors laugh and thats what these did. They showed their culture and their way of doing stuff in poems weather it was getting drunk or they way they loved. All the poems showed their way of life through different metaphors and messages that were told in the poems. So I think yes poems can help us understand societys if you can truely understand the poems. If you can understand the messages and all the saracastic remarks that are made in poems you can find the true humor that these poets had and the true message behind each poem. These poems teach us about societys.
